FAQ

If an ELGENS product is labeled IP65 Front Bezel or Front Panel IP65/66, does that mean the entire unit provides the same level of water and dust protection?

Not necessarily. IP ratings are protection classifications established under IEC 60529. The first digit indicates protection against solid foreign objects and dust, while the second digit indicates protection against liquids. IP65 and IP66 both include dust-tight requirements, but their liquid test conditions differ; IP66 has more stringent requirements for protection against water jets than IP65.

If a product is labeled IP65 Front Bezel or Front Panel IP65/66, this generally means that the protection applies primarily to the front bezel or front panel. It cannot be assumed that the device's rear, I/O connectors, power connectors, cables, and interior provide the same level of protection. Nor does it mean that the device can be immersed in water without restriction or cleaned with high-pressure water jets.

Some ELGENS military platforms can provide IP65+ or IP67 protection. For example, X-Corleone is officially rated IP67; however, the actual protection rating, scope of testing, and installation requirements must still be verified against the complete model designation and official documentation.

Actual specifications, certifications, cybersecurity features, and customization options must be confirmed for the specified product model and project configuration.

How should I select ELGENS products for outdoor, marine, or high- and low-temperature environments?

Do not base your selection solely on product labels such as "outdoor" or "military." Verify each requirement individually, including operating temperature, front-panel or whole-unit protection, power input, brightness, vibration, shock, and required certifications.

For military, marine, and industrial applications, ELGENS offers displays, Panel PCs, and edge computing platforms that, depending on the product series, can support the requirements of standards such as MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-1275E, MIL-STD-810H, and IEC 60945. Some products can also be configured for -40°C to 70°C operation, IP65/IP67 protection, high brightness, optical bonding, fanless operation, and glove-compatible touch. Actual certifications and temperature ranges must still be confirmed based on the complete model number.

Which processors do ELGENS Panel PCs use, and how should they be selected based on the application?

The ELGENS Panel PC lineup includes 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Intel Core processor series, with some products also using low-power processors. The LPC-P156WAG-2Tx uses Intel Tiger Lake-UP3 Core i3/i5/i7 processors; the LPC-P215WAG-2xMTN/H supports 12th-14th Gen LGA1700 Core i processors up to 35W.

For applications that require AI inference or edge computing, ELGENS also offers the X-Corleone AI Edge Server, which can be configured with Intel processors and an NVIDIA Quadro RTX A2000 AI GPU. When selecting a platform, provide details about the application software, image processing, AI models, computing workload, power consumption, and ambient temperature so ELGENS can help select a suitable CPU/GPU platform.

What should I check first if there is no display or the device does not boot properly after power-on?

First, check the power indicator and make sure the power cable, signal cable, and connectors are securely connected. Then verify that the input signal source and display brightness are correct and that the connected host system is operating normally. When it is safe to do so, securely reconnect the cables and restart the device.

Power input specifications and startup procedures may vary by model. For example, some models in the LPC-P101 series use DC 12 to 24 V input and a 3-pin power terminal. For military, vehicle-mounted, or maritime platforms, also verify that the power input range, grounding, surge protection, and signal interfaces meet the project requirements. If the issue persists, please provide the model number, serial number, power and signal connection details, indicator status, and checks already performed so that ELGENS can conduct a systematic diagnosis.

Should I choose an ELGENS industrial monitor, Panel PC, or AI/PQC platform?

If you already have a host computer or controller on site and your primary requirements are visual display and touch operation, you can choose an ELGENS industrial monitor. If you need to integrate the display, touch functionality, processor, storage, and I/O into a single device, you can consider an ELGENS Panel PC.

If your application requires AI inference, edge computing, or military-grade cybersecurity, you can consider the X-Corleone AI Edge Server. If you want to gradually introduce post-quantum cryptography into existing enterprise, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments, you can consider the Shelby 1U PQC Gateway. ELGENS can provide display, computing, cybersecurity, and system integration solutions based on project requirements, rather than offering only a single hardware product.

Do all Panel PCs have the same memory and storage capacities and interfaces?

Not necessarily. The LPC-P156WAG-2Tx provides 2 DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, supporting up to 64GB, along with a 2.5-inch storage bay and an M.2 NVMe slot. The LPC-P101WAG-3Tx offers CFast and M.2 NVMe; the LPC-P215WAG-2xMTN/H offers M.2 PCIe SSD storage and dual 2.5-inch storage bays.

For secure computing platforms such as X-Corleone or Shelby, requirements may also involve TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, full-disk encryption, LUKS, or data protection. Memory, storage capacity, RAID, encryption, and cybersecurity configurations should all be confirmed early in the project.

How should ELGENS' IP65/IP66, MIL-STD, IEC 60945, and company-level qualifications be distinguished?

These qualifications and tests represent different levels of requirements:

• IP65/IP66/IP67: Primarily describe the degree of enclosure protection against dust and water ingress.

• MIL-STD-461G: Primarily addresses military electromagnetic interference and immunity requirements, including test items such as CE101/CE102/RE101/RE102/CS118.

• MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-1275E: Primarily relate to power supply environments and power input requirements for military platforms.

• MIL-STD-810H: Covers environmental resistance to temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, and other conditions, depending on the test method.

• IEC 60945: Primarily relates to environmental and electromagnetic compatibility requirements for maritime navigation and communication equipment.

• NATO NCAGE: Relates to company or supplier identification and defense supply chain qualifications, not waterproofing or military-standard certification for an individual display.

• CAVP: Relates to cryptographic modules or related cybersecurity validation and does not mean that a Panel PC has obtained all military-standard certifications.

• CMMC 2.0: Falls within the scope of organizational cybersecurity maturity and compliance; ELGENS' publicly available information specifies Level 1 self-assessment, which should not be directly described as CMMC certification for all products.

ELGENS' publicly available information lists company-level details such as NATO NCAGE Code STEL9, CAVP A7682/A7683, and CMMC 2.0 Level 1 self-assessment; for formal defense projects, the latest certificates, registration records, declarations of conformity, and test documentation for the specified product should still be requested.
